ABOUT US
Han Tao, or "the Chinese way," is Loyola Marymount University's Chinese and Chinese-American student organization. We represent the students of LMU who are Chinese, Chinese-American, or have an interest in Chinese culture.
As a student-run organization, we are dedicated to offering LMU a genuine Chinese experience while providing members with a cultural community to which they can connect. We welcome all students, regardless of ethnicity, who have an interest in Chinese culture to our club's events.
Han Tao's signature programs: The Dynasty program is our family system where members are adopted into a Dynasty and are paired with a big or a little! We also offer a recreational bonding experience through our hip hop dance group die[NASTY]motion and our lion dance troupe. Membership is open to anyone and no experience is necessary!
Our largest event of the year, LMU's Chinese Cultural Night (CCN), occurs at the end of each Spring semester. On April 2016, Han Tao revived this tradition on LMU's campus for the first time in over 10 years, attracting 100+ visitors. CCN embodies a night market setting with food, merchandise, games, and performances. CCN also enlists the help of other API clubs and cultural organizations to come celebrate with us. We hope each upcoming CCN becomes more memorable than the last and Han Tao establishes Chinese Cultural Night as a celebrated LMU tradition. Please refer back to this website throughout the academic year. We look forward to serving LMU's intercultural community!
